Changes to my study programme

If there's something I want to change mostly at all from my proffesional formation, its the study programme from my journalism career. And now I want to use this blog to discharge me from all the bad things that I see in this programme in particular.

A priviliged image surround mostly all the careers of the University of Chile. However, I think that journalism it's an anti-career that has a reduce profile about what is to be a journalist. The journalism study programme consist in five years of theorical and "practical" courses. I said "practical" because this subject don't reflect the press wotrk that we wad to make in the profession. In fact, all the courses are referred in the crytical analysis of journalism products.

So, it feels like the journalism career in the University of Chile don't train us to be competent journalist, is more like known all the basic concepts about how the journalism should be. We didn't learn how to face a interviewee, for example, or how you can conform an effective radio production. The journalist from the old school didn't have a professional career, they work directly from the streetpress, and they demostrated that the journalist work has to make it outside, reporting a lot, reading the news, been a investigator of the day-to-day world.
